About Me

Hi I’m Lara Jane Thorpe, a creative commercial Photographer based in Weymouth, Dorset.

I specialise in photography, styling and content creation for restaurants, food brands and independent retailers, with projects ranging from glossy magazine spreads through to quirky social media campaigns.

I love all things creative from making plates for my food photography, painting backdrops in the studio as well as hunting for props at the local vintage markets. You can often find me in the kitchen working on new ways of styling my lunch. The food I eat always ends up cold and in the studio as I cannot resist missing a perfect photo opportunity.

A former retail buyer and brand developer, I am now a food and lifestyle photographer. I bring my passion to every shoot creating mood-boards and gathering suitable props and backgrounds, this combined with the latest trends in photography gives your images unique personality and brings your brand to life.

My food photography regularly features in Hello magazine ; in 2016, 2017 and 2019 I was very proud to be shortlisted for the international Pink Lady Food Photographer of the year  which I was very excited to reach the final of in 2017.
